As Film Professionals, we
have all heard about body language – because when we read about our favorite
actors or stars – the term body language inadvertently crops up. What we, as
film professionals, don’t realize is that it’s not just the actors or the
directors, or the film professionals on a macro perspective; but each and every
human-being has a body language that gives out the vibes. It is the vibes that
attracts us to a person.
To better understand the
vibes, their importance and their power; here’s an example.
Raj a fairly handsome
looking man says exasperatedly, “I hate girls. They are all calculative;
always want something from you, and then, they just throw you out of their life”. He
goes on to tell, how this is especially true in Bollywood and all entertainment
industries across the world. Girls are all fake; they’re just into looks and the
money, a guy has.
Raj, once a ladies’ man; is a
lame shadow of the man he used to be. He has no girl-friends, is not in a
relationship, and does not date, because he feels girls find him unattractive.
Simran, comes in for
shooting a web-series; arrives late on the sets and on being reprimanded breaks
down. In between sobs she says, “I don’t know why I’m not attracting any of the
good guys. They are all son of bitches.” As I gasp, at her emotional outburst,
she readily admits that once she used to get all the attention from men and
that it is not happening now. She wonders has she lost her beauty & charm.
I look at her; find her to be very attractive and wonder why she has a belief
that guys are not interested in her because there is something wrong with her
and that she is “not good enough.
What both, Simran & Raj,
don’t see or understand is that there was something that they were expressing
unconsciously – a non-verbal communication – through their body language,
facial expressions and voice. All these three, together, conveyed a message to
prospective people from opposite sex interested in them – loud & clear - stay
away from me. Unconsciously, they were giving an “OFF VIBE” – stay away from me
– reason why people didn’t approach either Simran or Raj.
Attending &
understanding lectures on how to get work done & attract people – both of
them changed their body language, which, in turn changed their vibe. Now they
oozed a “WELCOME VIBE” – within three days, they were dating again.
Did you notice the change, how
the same people responded differently to the same people – Simran & Raj. If
you are facing same problems as Simran & Raj – try changing your body
language, get the vibe right and you will be surprised to find the positive
results in life. Be it love life or professional life.
