Events for promotion mean various events that can be done to promote a film.

For example during Bajrangi Bhaijaan there was a remarkable Event for promotion - a selfie contest!
When the promotions of Hero started, there was an equally interesting event for promotion; it asked the youngsters to tell about "Who is your hero and why?"
